Walkover

Sun 26 Aug 2007

Due to an unprecedented string of serious injuries to players in key positions for the team, The Yorkshire Rams regret to announce that they are unable to take a squad to the West Coast Trojans this Sunday that the organisation deem safe to play the fixture.

We will, therefore, not be in a position to play the Trojans in the scheduled game in Scotland.

In accordance with the first rule of the British American Footnball Coaches Association, we feel that with the injuries to so many players in key positions, most notably linemen, we would not be able to guarantee the safety of those still available to play.

We have already informed the league, the referees association and Drew McCabe, the General Manager of the West Coast Trojans, of this news.

I would like to close on saying that in over twenty years of existence, this is the first time the Yorkshire Rams have had to withdraw from a game and it is with great sadness and regret that we do so.

We do, however, maintain pride in our organisation, as one that puts the safety of its players above all other team matters.

GO RAMS 2008

Kind regards
